Vantage Outsourcing, a leader in the healthcare industry providing complete cataract surgery outsourcing services announced that Gary Barnett, a veteran healthcare executive and consultant, has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. Barnett’s experience includes leadership positions such as chief executive officer in hospitals and vertically integrated healthcare systems in both the Midwest and Eastern region of the United States.
“Gary has been a leader in the industry for years and has demonstrated his passion for improving the healthcare system on a state and national level,” said Ann Deters, founder and CEO of Vantage Outsourcing. “The addition of Gary brings a unique perspective to how we serve our clients. Barnett has been active in healthcare policy development and advocacy in Illinois. He served as a member of the board of the Illinois Hospital Association for nine years and as the chairman of the board in 2007. His healthcare advocacy role within the Illinois General Assembly included testimony on a number of bills and membership on a General Assembly Task Force. On the national level, Barnett has been a member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board.
Outside of healthcare, Barnett has served on the board of the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence, the Advisory Board to the Lumpkin School of Business of Eastern Illinois University, and Coles Together, an economic development corporation for Coles County. Barnett holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Truman State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Arizona.
